As in most of rural Uttar Pradesh, farming, wheat in the Rabi season and paddy in the Kharif season, depending on the area, along with dairy and wage work under MGNREGA, is the main source of livelihood around Koilsa. Administration

The Koilsa block office is headed by the Block Development Officer (BDO), assisted by officers for agriculture, cooperatives, panchayats, social welfare and statistics. The elected Kshetra Panchayat, directly elected members together with the heads of the block’s gram panchayats, chooses the Block Pramukh and approves the block development plan.

For MGNREGA job cards, PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) houses, Swachh Bharat toilets, pension verification and complaints about any gram panchayat, the Koilsa block office is the first point of contact. Grievances can also be filed on IGRS (Jansunwai) (jansunwai.up.nic.in) or on helpline 1076.
